This Privacy Policy explains how LoanVouch (“LoanVouch”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information about visitors to loanvouch.com and users of our services. By using LoanVouch, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Account information. If you create an account or submit a review, we collect your email address, display name, and the contents of any reviews or comments you submit.
- Loan-matching information. If you use our “Get matched” flow, we collect the details you enter (loan amount, purpose, credit-band self-assessment, ZIP code, employment status, etc.) so we can show you relevant lenders. We share this information with lenders only when you explicitly choose to apply with them.
- Technical information. We collect server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, referring page, timestamp) for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate analytics. We do not enable third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies by default.
- Cookies. We use a small number of essential cookies (login session, cookie-consent preference, CSRF tokens). Optional analytics cookies are off unless you explicitly accept them via our cookie banner.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain the site (authenticate users, prevent abuse, display reviews).
- Match borrowers to relevant lenders when requested.
- Send transactional emails (account verification, review notifications, application updates).
- Respond to support inquiries.
- Detect and prevent fraud, fake reviews, and other abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information to data brokers.
3. Sharing with third parties
We share personal information only in these limited circumstances:
- With lenders you choose. When you submit a loan application through LoanVouch and select a lender, we transmit your application details to that lender. The lender becomes an independent data controller from that point forward and is responsible for its own privacy practices.
- With service providers. Hosting (our LEMP infrastructure provider), email delivery (SMTP transactional provider), and security tooling. These providers process data on our behalf under contract and may not use it for their own purposes.
- For legal reasons. If we receive a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent harm.
- In a business transfer. If LoanVouch is acquired or merged, user data may transfer to the successor entity, which will be bound by this policy or a successor policy that is no less protective.
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We do not share personal information with advertising networks.
4. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and to comply with our legal obligations. Account data is kept until you delete your account or until 24 months of inactivity (whichever comes first). Loan-matching applications are retained for 36 months for fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution purposes. Server logs are retained for 90 days. You can request earlier deletion — see Section 6.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, hashed and salted password storage, role-based access control on internal systems, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you promptly and as required by law.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights under applicable privacy law (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA):
- Access. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. You can request that we correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion. You can request that we delete your personal information, subject to limited exceptions (e.g., information we need to retain for fraud prevention or legal obligations).
- Portability. You can request a machine-readable export of your data.
- Objection / restriction. You can object to certain processing or ask us to restrict it.
- Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law; nonetheless, you may submit a request and we will confirm.
- Withdraw consent. Where we rely on consent (e.g., optional cookies), you can withdraw it at any time via the cookie banner or by clearing your browser cookies.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days (45 days under CCPA where allowed). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
7. International transfers
LoanVouch is operated from servers located in the United States. If you access our service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for international transfers of EU personal data.
8. Children
LoanVouch is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new effective date at the top of the policy and, for material changes, notify users via email or a site banner. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
10. Contact
For privacy questions, data-subject requests, or to file a complaint:
Email: [email protected]
Subject line: “Privacy request — [your request type]”
If you are an EU/UK resident and we are unable to resolve your complaint, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
